We helped this family-owned building supplies enterprise celebrate its 100th anniversary. We transformed a written history of the business into a stunning and treasured commemorative calendar.
Read the existing business history and reviewed all available photographs to develop a strategy that would work in calendar format. More than 80 pages of historical information and more than 50 photographs and images were available to tell the business’ story.
Divided the story into 10 decades, with one calendar page representing one decade. The first month provided an introduction and the last month gave a conclusion: 12 pages total
To incorporate many historical details without cluttering the calendar with text, established a bullet-point timeline as a standard design element on each calendar page.
Wrote the copy and selected representative photographs for each decade, sourced and oversaw graphic designer to develop colour palette and page design and selected a digital print process as cost-effective and suited to the task
Client is elated and the calendar has elicited very positive feedback from recipients
The calendar is a very effective customer relations tool: recipients often phone the business to comment on some aspect of the calendar or to reminisce, and it hangs in nearly 400 customer homes around the business region
